Google tests Projects for Gemini desktop: files, instructions and chats in one workspace
testingcatalog · x · 2026-09-08
Google is internally testing a Projects feature for the Gemini desktop app that groups custom instructions, reference files and related chats into dedicated workspaces, where every new chat inherits the same context — mirroring the Projects model in ChatGPT and Claude. The implementation is separate from NotebookLM-linked notebooks and unlikely to replace them. No release date or rollout details are confirmed, but its working state suggests broader availability is planned. It effectively brings the Projects experience already available on Gemini Business to consumers.
