Stripe Radar emerges as key defense against fast-growing LLM token theft fraud industry

Since the top AI companies grew up on Stripe, the payments firm saw token fraud emerge early and invested aggressively in fighting it; its Radar fraud-protection product now guards against the fast-growing cottage industry of LLM token theft.
Quoted developer thdxr says his service and OpenRouter are targets of a big chunk of the world's fraud efforts right now, welcoming Stripe's involvement — but warns that if anti-fraud makes LLM access more annoying, this is why.
