Waymo officially expands to Berkeley as physical AI startup wave builds in the Bay Area

Waymo is officially rolling out service to Berkeley. The author, an investor near campus, sees the timing as fitting given the rise of physical AI — robotics, autonomous systems, and AI that operates in the real world.
Berkeley DeepDrive has researched autonomous driving for years within the BAIR ecosystem, and The House Fund has hosted mobility conferences on the space. Founders are increasingly building on this research, and the fund is seeing more robotics and physical AI pitches. The author is happy to volunteer as a Waymo customer.
