Player uses ChatGPT to fix a corrupted Majora's Mask Recomp PC save file
Turbofurbo_Realzz · reddit · 2026-09-07
A player hit a save-corruption bug in the Majora's Mask Recomp PC port: after saving at the water temple, the learned song vanished from the save file and couldn't be relearned because the cutscene had already played. They sent the bugged save to ChatGPT, which analyzed and patched the file to restore the song. A neat example of using an LLM to directly repair binary game save data.
