Sam Bowman calls out a habit he finds increasingly annoying: "intellectual partisanship" — the expectation that people shouldn't publicly express views associated with "the enemy," and that anyone on a side (e.g. pro-progress or pro-building) errs when they say anything seemingly inconsistent with that camp.
He argues it's a terrible, mind-killed way to think, and enforcing it on others is like polluting public discourse.
