A striking hedge: Jensen Huang is publicly saying OpenAI has just hit AGI, while Nvidia is quietly negotiating a $2.5 billion investment into Thinking Machines Lab, the open-weight lab founded by Mira Murati and positioned against OpenAI and Anthropic.
It's not the first bet either — Nvidia already backed TML in March with a gigawatt of Vera Rubin chips. As the poster notes, Nvidia really knows how to hedge its bets.
