A viral X post cites leaked September 15, 2021 Zuckerberg emails to argue that Meta attempted genuine transparency by studying the social impact of its products — and was massively punished for it. The obvious lesson in today's media environment, the author says, is to not do such research at all, as TikTok and YouTube effectively do.
