In autumn 2011, at age 84, Turing Award winner and MIT AI Lab co-founder Marvin Minsky taught his classic course The Society of Mind, arguing there is no single "self" in the head: the mind is a collection of countless small, imperfect processes, and intelligence emerges from their interaction.
The 13 lectures cover consciousness, emotion, pain, creativity, and why we can literally be "of two minds." The entire course—lectures, readings, assignments, and the book—is available for free.
