Claude Code's Boris Cherny: don't optimize token cost, maximize returns

Boris Cherny, head of Claude Code at Anthropic, said on the Scale podcast that while token spending might be cut by 50%, the upside from better model use could be 1,000x or more. His advice: "I use [the strongest model] for everything" — focus on increasing returns rather than cutting costs.
