Emad Mostaque doubles down: AI will write nearly all code by 2027, developers gone by 2028

Stability AI founder Emad Mostaque reiterated his 2023 prediction that developers will cease to exist by 2028. His timeline: next year AI will write better code than all but a few humans, 2027 it will instantly generate almost all code, and by 2028 the bottleneck will be running out of ideas. Developer Jason Kneen quote-reposted to push back: "There will still be developers."
