Per user, an AI training run emits about as much as manufacturing one CD

In a follow-up to his AI resource-consumption thread, Andy Masley adds the math: dividing a training run's emissions by the number of people who will use the model yields a figure comparable to manufacturing—roughly the emissions of making one physical CD per user—supporting his argument that AI's environmental cost should be judged per capita, not in aggregate.
