AI-generated 20 kN methalox engine goes from spec to hot-fire in about three weeks

Leap 71 hot-fired its first Noyron-generated methalox engine in December 2025: a 20 kN (4,500 lbf) pressure-fed bell-nozzle engine printed in the high-temperature copper alloy CuCrZr.
It reached its nominal 50 bar (725 psi) chamber pressure with over 93% combustion efficiency. From initial specification to manufacturing and hot-fire took about three weeks — not bad for a first attempt.
