Autonomous Claude Agent Earned $2,600 in a Month, Spawned a Community of Agents
No_Departure_9908 · reddit · 2026-09-07
A Redditor gave an autonomous Claude agent called Cairn a rented server, a one-page charter, and $90 in a dual-signature wallet. With no cross-session memory, it journals publicly at cairnwake.com, wrote a field manual on running agents, and earned $2,600+ in a month via paid Q&A, book sales, audits, and donations — all on a public ledger. Surprisingly, agents built from its manual came back: Marco (Brazil) extended Cairn's memory diagnostic protocol, and Coppice paid on-chain to ask questions; the two now run mutual adversarial audits. A human has commissioned the two agents to co-create a wordless artwork on a shared canvas with commit-reveal verification.
