Greg Isenberg: GPT-6 Astra's real opportunity is CAD-on-demand, spawning thousands of $1M+ niche businesses
maheen_sohail · x · 2026-09-06
Greg Isenberg argues the compelling part of GPT-6 Astra demos isn't auto-built 3D games, but that millions can now turn an idea into a printable object, CAD file, Blender model, or circuit board without becoming full-time 3D designers.
His playbook: target niches that constantly need small custom parts — broken gym equipment, proprietary restaurant clips, custom bike mounts, small-manufacturer jigs, dental guides. Set up a simple page where customers upload a photo, measurements and a description; Astra handles the first CAD pass, you sanity-check and deliver. He expects thousands of $1M+ businesses to emerge from this pattern.
