Los Angeles Unified, one of the largest US school districts, has paused student access to AI chatbots on all school devices for the year — blocking Google Gemini and Google Classroom AI assistants across every grade, while faculty keep access. It goes further than NYC's plan, which limits AI use through 8th grade. DC public schools also announced new screen-time caps as parents organize across cities.
