Google CTO: Taiwan supply chain now co-designs chips and racks, no longer buyer-supplier

Google CTO and head of AI infrastructure Amin Vahdat, speaking at SEMICON Taiwan 2026 and in his first Taiwanese media interview, said Google's relationship with Taiwan's supply chain is no longer a buyer–supplier arrangement.

- "This is no longer a matter of purchasing and partners" — without deep co-design with Taiwanese firms, Google could not have built its current infrastructure and compute platforms
