After weeks of rumors, Nvidia confirmed it has acquired Hugging Face for $12.93 billion. The platform hosts 3 million models, 1 million apps, 500k datasets and serves over 18 million developers. CEO Jensen Huang said Hugging Face will keep supporting open-source and open-weight models, that developers remain free to choose their models, frameworks, clouds and inference providers — no Nvidia compute required — and noted Nvidia has released 500+ models and 250 open datasets on the hub.
