Shelf Stories: AI identifies 107 books from shelf photos into a browsable site

Linus Ekenstam built "Shelf Stories", a site that uses AI vision to identify books from shelf photographs: 107 books identified across 5 shelves, browsable by category (fiction, fantasy & horror, crime & mystery, nonfiction) with covers and details for each title.

Limitations remain — he demoed navigating to Goodreads for an unidentified book and noted that adding more source photos can help fix recognition errors.

Next step: a companion app for Meta glasses, finding a way to make API calls from the glasses so users can snap a shelf and build their library on the go.
