PaperLens MCP Verifies Papers Are Actually Implemented in Code, Now Open Source

A new open-source MCP called PaperLens aims to be an investigation and verification layer on top of existing paper-to-code MCPs. Highlights:
- Chains questions: which implementation is relevant, how paper concepts map to code, whether code really implements the paper, what's missing or different, and what reproduction requires
- On CLIP, it found the τ = 0.07 paper-code connection, detected the missing temperature clipping, and spotted that openclip contains the contrastive objective absent from the official repo
- Tested on 12 papers to catch same-name unrelated repos, dependencies mistaken for implementations, false absences, and bad citation provenance
