"Total OpenAI victory" debate: coder says Cursor beats Codex harness by a wide margin
IndraVahan · x · 2026-09-06
@ryiacy argued OpenAI is heading toward total victory: best overall model (astra), best cheap model (5.6 Luna #1 on OpenRouter, beating DeepSeek and other Chinese models), best harness in Codex, most compute, and a consumer business finally working via ads.
IndraVahan quote-rebutted one point: he doesn't buy Codex as the best harness—Cursor beats it by a wide margin—though he agrees OpenAI is playing the model game smartly and is ahead of everyone on the curve, until "our Chinese rebels catch up."
