Codex launches Astra: notes persist across context windows without lossy summaries

OpenAI introduced Astra, a new way for Codex to preserve and retrieve context when the context window fills. Astra keeps notes across context windows, preserving accumulated details instead of repeatedly compressing them into a single lossy summary — aimed at long-running coding agent tasks.
