80% say AI boosts their productivity, but only 37% of firms see profit impact

The article "The vibe shift" argues enterprise AI adoption narratives are turning. A PE portfolio AI-value practitioner barely mentions AI: the real prize at every company is pricing, sales structure, or how work is organized — fix that and AI accelerates it; skip it and AI just speeds up broken processes.
- For nearly four years the playbook has been licenses, hackathons, all-hands training, use cases, and wiring workflows together, hoping usage and P&L impact would follow. Mostly it hasn't.
- McKinsey's latest figure: eight in ten people say AI tools make them personally more productive, yet the share of firms that can point to any profit impact sits at 37%, essentially unchanged.
