GPT-6 Astra rolls out to all users; dev cuts LEGO modeling from hours to 10 minutes
iamrobotbear · x · 2026-09-05
OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra is now available to all Pro, Enterprise, and Business Premium users alongside the API. Developer Dominik Kundel published a write-up, "Five things I learned from using Astra," covering how he uses it to build apps, LEGO models, and 3D scenes.
Key contrast: back in February, getting Codex to build LEGO models required a custom skill, complicated instructions, and hours of iteration with mediocre results. Astra now produced a first Golden Gate Bridge in 10 minutes, complete with tiny cars.
His takeaway: tasks previously written off as beyond the model are worth retrying — he urges users to throw ambitious abandoned projects at Astra. OpenAI's Romain Huet amplified the piece.
