ChatGPT browser tasks burn credits too fast, Plus user complains over cost
nilanganray · reddit · 2026-09-05
A Reddit user on the Plus plan complains that ChatGPT's computer/browser-use feature (with a Chrome extension) burns credits far too quickly even for tiny tasks. He finds it much better than what Claude Max offers, but the cost makes heavy use unviable. He speculates the consumption comes from continuous screengrabs sent to the model and possibly 4K screen resolution, and asks whether a cheaper model or other tweaks could reduce spend.
