Elon Musk says Tesla's autonomous fleet will be "part Uber, part Airbnb": owners will be able to add their idle vehicles to the robotaxi fleet via the app.
Musk claims owners can often earn more than their monthly car payment this way, with Tesla taking a small cut. The model would turn private EVs into self-operating shared mobility assets.
