Google's open Gemma models pass 1 billion downloads

Google announced that its open-source Gemma model family has surpassed 1 billion cumulative downloads. Google DeepMind's Paige Bailey talked with developers and partners including Unsloth AI and Qualcomm about how they build on-device tools, run local fine-tuning, and push multimodal capabilities with open models.
