OpenAI Releases GPT-6 Astra; Review Calls It Best Writing Model, Still Behind Fable

OpenAI has released GPT-6 Astra. Dan Shipper's team at Every tested it across coding, writing, and knowledge work:
- Writing: Their best writing model yet — fast, low slop, easy to steer, and a genuine companion for daily writing work. It even one-shotted the first draft of its own vibe check.
- Computer use: Wild — it can operate complicated apps for hours at a time, and produced the first cut of their Fable 5.1 vibe check video.
- Caveats: A big upgrade over 5.6-Sol, but frustrating habits keep it from matching Fable at the top end.
The retweeter also shared a prompt demo: a single prompt generated a historically grounded 3D Battle of Waterloo, and they used the model to cut a video and write a long review the same day it launched.
