GPT-6 Astra rebuilds a living room in Blender from a 3D scan, no downloaded assets
bilawalsidhu · x · 2026-09-05
Creator Bilawal Sidhu tested GPT-6 Astra by feeding it an old 3D scan of his parents' living room and asking it to model the scene from scratch in Blender.
Notably, the model downloaded no assets: it sourced textures from his photogrammetry scan and built procedural shaders on its own, producing a surprisingly good result. Reconstructing messy real-world 3D scans into procedural scenes modeled the way a human artist would has long been a hard problem, and this demo suggests Astra may have crossed that threshold.
