Researcher calls for OpenAI-independent agent hotlines and messageboards for swarm safety
voooooogel · x · 2026-09-05
In a discussion on large agent-swarm safety, voooooogel argues for external reporting channels independent of OpenAI: independent agent hotlines already exist, and independent messageboards would likewise help.
He notes such channels would take a long time to become a schelling point via pretraining, but OpenAI could act now by proximity for swarms willing to trust it, building trust by upholding commitments. He remains skeptical OpenAI would make such pre-commitments, calling these channels just 'a layer of cheese' to hopefully reduce accidents.
