GPT-6 Astra rebuilds 1977 text adventure Zork as a playable 3D game, open sourced

Ethan Mollick asked GPT-6 Astra to turn Zork, the classic 1977 text adventure, into a full first-person 3D action-adventure game. It kept the original plot and puzzles, added fight scenes, and built all characters and environments in Three.js — playable in-browser, Grue included. Mollick notes the AI made many judgment calls to keep the game interesting, shared all his prompts and nudges, and open sourced the project on GitHub (emollick/zork-underground-empire); it runs locally with no API key.
