JeffLadish: even AI insiders haven't internalized that AI swarms will dwarf us

Alignment researcher JeffLadish argues that even most people in AI haven't internalized that soon AIs will collectively be far more powerful than humans — unless we change course — and that they will have their own drives and goals, aligned or not. He suggests that seeing swarm behavior helps people grasp this, but the update is hard to fully internalize. HaydnBelfield responded in agreement.
