ML educator Tivadar Danka (The Palindrome) set out to answer "how do I get started in machine learning?" by mapping the field into a full knowledge graph of concepts, from mathematical foundations up to the state of the art.
A few structural patterns emerged:
- A thin spine of mathematics holds up the entire graph;
- Central hub concepts like gradient descent enable modern ML as we know it;
- The hierarchy gives a principled path from basics to frontier.
