Cracking RSA-1024 takes ~2,000 GPU-years, but one hyperscaler cluster could do it in weeks

Cryptographer sweis estimates factoring RSA-1024 (bits, not digits) would take about 2,000 GPU-years. For context, a single cluster at a modern hyperscaler might have 100,000 GPUs — GNFS doesn't fully parallelize across it, but such capacity could factor RSA-1024 in weeks.
