Japanese company init launched WebTerm Learn, a free platform that runs a realistic terminal simulator in the browser to teach Git, Linux CLI, and Vim.
- Gamified entry with 12 courses and 129 lessons, all free; sign in via Google/GitHub to unlock everything
- A TypeScript command engine runs 100+ commands on a virtual filesystem, so dangerous commands like rm -rf / are safe to try
- Git is fully modeled (objects, refs, index, worktree): practice log/diff/merge/rebase/stash/cherry-pick, conflict resolution, even push and PRs to a simulated remote
- Vim runs in the simulator via a patch
