Celigo says AI agents built almost all of Ora, with humans approving every merge

Celigo's CTO published a detailed account of building Ora, its business-integration agent, almost entirely with AI coding agents since June 2025. After a six-month beta and 16,800+ real conversations, the product is GA, with humans setting direction, judging outcomes, and approving every merge.
The engineering system was rebuilt around agents: docs organized for "tokens-to-competence," tribal knowledge turned into always-loaded rules, tens of thousands of tests including thousands of AI-graded evals, agents reviewing agents, and staged rollouts for customer-facing changes.
Celigo claims output nearly quadrupled in one month and ran at 700% of starting pace over six months with the same team. The author cautions this is a vendor case study with no public repo, reviewer-hours, escaped-defect rate, rollback rate, or cost data — commit velocity isn't customer value.
