Researcher: LLMs' hidden cost of wasting your time on useless work is underrated

A thread argues that LLMs' ability to make you waste time on actually useless work is massively underrated. @andrewho03 says he spent tens of hours earlier this year preparing legal documents with ChatGPT that in retrospect were too hasty and useless. He still thinks the net balance is positive, but calls it a significant countervailing factor.
