Clanker Cloud Lets Anyone Build and Host Agents, With an Enterprise Sales Cautionary Tale
tekbog · x · 2026-09-04
Developer tekbog introduces Clanker Cloud, a platform for building and hosting personal agents:
- Create agents callable via CURL from anywhere
- Build and share apps, organize docs, keep agents running with loops
- Built-in browser (via Cloudflare), sandboxed execution
- A Linux cloud desktop controllable by agent or user, plus remote control of your own machine via a desktop app
- Workspace with skills, bookmarks, and ontology-based organization
The author also shares an enterprise sales lesson: the team pivoted from a DevOps-agent focus to open agent building after discovering that even with CEO/CTO buy-in, deals often stalled on a single AI-skeptical engineer clinging to bash scripts. Current priorities are polishing UX, fixing bugs, and bringing the macOS/Windows apps to feature parity with the web version.
