A decade after the learn-to-code boom, coding itself has lost much of its value

signulll notes the reversal: just over a decade ago there was an entire startup category for teaching people to code — bootcamps, online courses — with floods of students entering CS chasing salaries. Less than 10 years later, writing code itself has become dramatically less valuable. The pace of progress is ridiculous.
