Pointing agents at Luma calendars: a dumb pump plus model-only judgment

MiddleSweet9163 · reddit · 2026-09-04

A Redditor built a two-part pipeline to track SF's flood of Luma events: a deterministic no-model pump that flattens RSS/iCal subscriptions (using Luma's built-in iCal URLs) into deduplicated feed messages, plus a long-running agent that reads the channel and picks relevant events with one-line reasoning. This morning it processed 33 events from 7 calendars and picked 8. The design keeps models only where judgment is needed and works for any RSS/iCal feed; demo code is in the comments.
