Multiple signals suggest OpenAI is close to shipping a model codenamed Astra (reportedly GPT-6):
- OpenAI's LongGapsBetweenPrimes repo records "GPT 6 Astra" running through Codex for 2 hours in /goal mode. Astra performed the initial autonomous pass before human refinement; the final Lean file is 4,546 lines with zero sorry placeholders.
- OpenAI also merged a Codex change making Guardian computer-use review follow the active model and wiping stale safety decisions after mid-thread model switches.
