PRs NOT Welcome: Vercel, tldraw and Flue replace community PRs with agent software factories
rseroter · x · 2026-09-03
Latent Space reports top AI-native open source projects are shutting off external PRs, 18 years after GitHub invented them. Vercel built a "software factory" of agents (bug reproduction, fix application, review) to clear AI SDK's backlog of 1,000+ issues and 800 PRs; Flue and tldraw do the same, trusting their own tuned agents over community-generated AI code. The piece asks whether community-driven PRs and issues can survive when agents write the code.
