Pro LLM reader: I instantly spot AI writing and physically can't finish it
georgemillo · x · 2026-09-03
A writer who reads LLM output all day for work says he almost always stops reading the moment he recognizes an article as AI-generated—not out of moral stance, but a near-physical aversion.
Quoting Bryan Cantrill's complaint that people sharing obviously 100% LLM-written pieces can't get through the first paragraph themselves, he adds a nuance: AI output is fine when he generates it for his own use, but being handed someone else's response to a prompt he didn't write feels qualitatively offensive. His closing jab: 'If you want me to make an effort reading it, make an effort producing it, you lazy-ass meat proxy.'
