Kitter is a new open-source, local-first Skill manager for Mac that turns a popular symlink-based Skill management approach into a polished GUI app.
- Problem it solves: Skills scattered and globally installed pollute agent context; managing them properly reportedly saves 10-20% of AI tokens per month.
- How it works: Built with Rust + GPUI, it keeps one canonical local Skill library and symlinks only what each project needs—no account, no server, no background indexer, small memory/disk footprint.
- Note: Unsigned build—use Control+click → Open on first launch, or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Kitter.app if blocked.
