Investor davecyen says modern investment analysts now use Claude Code, Codex, and custom harnesses to research public markets—and a harness is only as good as its system of record and tools. Financial Datasets is a pay-as-you-go API indexing live market data from primary sources like SEC filings and earnings calls. Early devs built toy apps (IPO trackers, ETF look-throughs); now it's becoming data infrastructure for top firms and what he calls a new agent-run financial system. davecyen announced backing the company, joined by virattt.
