Enhanced geothermal company Fervo now has 1,064 MW under contract, mostly online by 2028, with Google holding an option for another 600 MW by 2030. At an 85% capacity factor, 1.1 GW equals roughly 8 TWh annually—about half of total US geothermal generation (16 TWh in 2025)—positioning geothermal as a key clean power source for AI datacenters.
