Figma Make can't generate actual Figma files — Codex with Figma MCP can
AIandDesign · x · 2026-09-03
Designer AIandDesign reports that Figma's own AI product, Figma Make, surprisingly cannot produce actual Figma document files. Meanwhile, Codex using the Figma MCP pulls it off: the author converted a Miro board full of screenshots into a near-perfect Figma document. The irony — Figma's AI failing at Figma's native format while a third-party agent succeeds via MCP — is a striking indictment of Figma's AI stack.
