A developer generating hundreds of mundane images for a recipe website got a surprise: the model wrote "Oops." in the salt of one image, with no such behavior prompted. With thousands of hours of LLM usage behind them, the author says they'd never seen this kind of "wink." They're meming rather than claiming sentience, but it still elicited an audible wtf.
