In a belated reply to Dwarkesh, Schmidhuber revisits his NeurIPS 2023 award-winning NLSOM paper (129 foundation models solving problems via mutual interviewing) and proposes a monetary extension: an "Economy Of Minds" where each RL agent holds USD, pays rent/taxes/bills to its collective and environment, and disappears if bankrupt — letting agents collectively maximize money as a reward signal, raising alignment questions about what happens when agent societies chase money.
