One Claude Code Skill Turns a 20-Shot Script Into 8 Finished AI Documentaries (33 Min)
illscience · x · 2026-09-02
Developer illscience released an open-source Claude Code skill, 'AI Documentary,' that turns a 20-shot script into finished films — 8 films and 33 minutes of generated footage with narration, sound, score, captions, and a social cut, across 10 resumable stages plus 16 field notes on failures.
- Pipeline: Claude Fable 5.1 writes and directs; footage from MiniMax H3 and ByteDance Seedance 2.5 (via Fal); ElevenLabs for voice, SFX, and score; edit via ffmpeg + Pillow
- Bake-offs: the Dune film was shot on MiniMax H3, then reshot on Seedance 2.5 after a 7-model comparison; Claude, Qwen, and GLM each direct their own film
- Lessons: off-spec Ewok shots fixed by describing the creature like a costume department would; a rotoscope pass was tried and retired
- The skill is downloadable for anyone to reproduce the pipeline
