Entrepreneur Paras Chopra argues AI causes cognitive decline by removing all friction from work — the very friction that once forced our brains to build deep, transferable mental models.
His example: building a webpage pre-AI meant iterating in HTML editors/Photoshop, intuitively learning margins, colors, user empathy, performance and modularity along the way. Today you just ask ChatGPT, get a decent page, and never hone those skills.
He compares it to the artist's struggle of creating art versus strolling through a museum admiring it: "We used to do the former with our work, and now with AI, it is the latter."
